Yashodhara Mishra

A well-known name in Odia literature, Yashodhara Mishra has published 15 collections of short stories, novels, poems and translated works. Her works have been translated to most Indian languages as well as several languages abroad, and many of them are placed in significant literary anthologies. She has received several literary awards including the Odisha Sahitya Akademi award, Katha Award ( Delhi), Odisha Book Fair award and Gangadhar Rath Puraskar ( for short stories) among others. A Ph.D. in American Literature, she has been a Professor of English under the government of Madhya Pradesh; a visiting Fellow at Mason de Science, Paris; a senior research Fellow of UGC and a Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla. She has participated in literary programs in UK, US, France, Germany and Mauritius on invitation. She is the first woman to be the editor of ‘Indian Literature’, the premier literary journal of India, published by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
